Music Gear Setup 2.0

Continuing from my previous post
The new drum module arrived on Monday and worked as expected. Interestingly the volumes of each instrument in each kit are slightly different than the old module.
I decided I wanted to clean up the cabling between the Drums, Speaker, and my PC so I measured out and wrote up what cables I needed and ordered them. I want to have minimum cabling on the floor, so i’ll bundle all the cables needed for drums and speaker into two “cable snakes.”
Mixer Routing
I’m very happy with the current setup of the mixer. It allows me to use the gear in a variety of situations with minimal physical changes.
- Main Out: Both L and R are connected to the drum speaker for primary stereo sound
- CR Out: These are wired to the mixer on my desk and plays through my desk speakers for additional sound
- Aux Send: This can be connected temporarily to my DAC for low latency mono recording
- Phones: Connected to the line in of the drum set for playing with headphones
- Tape In: Connected to the output of a USB Sound card for simple recording
- Tape Out: Connected to the input of a USB Sound card for receiving game audio
Also, I use a pair of USB/HDMI over ethernet boxes to extend 4k video and USB from my PC to the TV Stand.
